Organize a TEDx conference

Ideas worth spreading are spread through www.TED.com . I've been enjoying these talks for years and recently I thought "wouldn't it be neat if people like this would come to Zurich and give their talk live?" After some thinking I checked out the TED webpage and found that they have TEDx which is the product of people around the world thinking "why don't these cool people come to my home city?". To be honest this is one of the items on my bucket list which freaks me out the most...
The reason is that even a small event like this costs money and requires all kinds of resources. Furthermore I don't know the first thing about organizing an event, getting sponsors and promoting it so that it could draw an interested crowd. But what would the point of a bucket list be if everything were easy and daunting at all? In case you do not know TED, here are some talks I've enjoyed:

An artist who created an exhibition featuring 100 fictional artists he invented by himself:

A researcher on the value of vulnerability:

An African journalist addressing our perception of Africa

A Swiss comedian who ventured into art

So what's your daunting challenge? What makes you excited and scares the heck out of you at the same time? And most importantly when are you going to face that challenge and bring whatever it is into the world for all of us to enjoy?
